After looking at a lot of the awesome paint logs on here, I have decided to start using washes to help detail my models. Tried it out last night and it really makes a difference. One concern though: Washes stink. My models still stink today (~16 hours after painting). That goes away, right? I don't want to have a smelly army.
My devlan mud wash stinks the others are not as bad. I haven't noticed models stinking after they dry, but I only have a couple at a time. It's probably more noticeable in large groups. I'm sniffing my individual models that are a couple weeks old and there's no smell though.
Yah, devlan mud is horrid. I'm glad to hear it wont be that way forever. Just need to move my models to the garage for a few days... Thanks for the quick replies.
I haven't noticed a particularly bad smell from them... Do you shake the pots well before using them? I could be resistant to those kind of smells since I work in a chemistry lab though. Should go away soon after they are dry.
My blue and purple washes stink too, i don't use the other colours as much. The models are fine once the paint is dry though. I think the smell of the case foam is worse than the washes.
