Nice, Build as chargers I see, will all 20 build like this? Curious to know what your dislike is with them? Grrr, !mrahil
Built as chargers, but serving both purposes, as I am afraid to break spears I don't know if it is dino face that looks like porcelain mask, or it is that I am just old and think of dinos as lizards and not chickens.
Back from modeller's club. I managed to glue saurus warriors... minus few parts that I forgot to clip from sprue... that is still in office, where I get at monday. I run to something odd. All the models except banner bearer went smoothly, but that one have quite mangled body and it did now wanted to click together. I managed to finiah it somehow, but there will be some serious filling needed.
That's a disgusting looking Plague Marine! I hope the rest will look as disgusting as they do! Your Oracle on Troglodon looks excellent by the way.
After more than a week, I finally managed to do something. Saurus warriors and murder chickens are primed. I hope that I'll be able to preshade them next week.
I negotiated some more time! (And also woke up at 4 AM to sneak to hobby desk) This is the progress so far. All five dinos are preshaded, five plague marine heroes are preshaded, four saurus warriors have first drybrushing done and I really tried to strip paint from stegadon for second time... This time I brought heavy hitter, old electric toothbrush with rough bristles. Only to start stripping and battery dying after about 30 seconds.
Finally back at the office after more than a week. I managed to finally grab my tyranid half of Leviathan and after just smelling that new plastic crack, all my monthly goals went to hell. I won´t be greedy and decided to make it just for combat patrol and paint rest of it just for fun.
Gotta love those new models. There is barely any mold line cleaning at all. I am partially glad that I have my razor saw with me at work, because I found sack of nice beads that look great on larger bases. But only partially, as I managed to force razor saw through the bead and my finger couple of milimeters deep. Just when I cleaned my desk yesterday, I managed to get it all bloody today.
Cutting your fingers is the curse of the miniature hobby-ist Those beads bring the base to life already! Great addition. Are you planning on painting the beads as crystals? or just stones? Looking forward to more of this Grrr, !mrahil
Crystals 100%, I am just not sure about process yet. I am playing with idea of painting mini and then using cotton stick damped in isopropyl to get paint off just from crystals.
Another weekend, another woke up at 5 AM to sneaky ninja hobby work. Warriors and Murder chickens are finally preshaded.
Some more progress on tyranids here I had to leave out one of fangs from screamer killer, as it would be too high to fit into drawer
Found my old chaos kill team cultists and some spares I never finished (those were the days when I thought 5 of something is plenty). This should be enough for single 40k unit. Time to dip those 5 into isopropyl.
I got some hobby time today while kiddo had afterlunch nap. I initially wanted to paint raptadons, but I realised that I don't have any idea about what colors I want to paint them. So to not waste precious time, I grabbed few of about 20 preshaded marines and started.
First four are done. 3 hours total. That is not bad, but it is about double I give to regular saurians.
Back from modellers club, first part of tyranids is primed, 15 poxwalkers are glued and cleaned and a bit of work done on another 4 plague marines.
Almost decided on paint scheme. This time, most is decided, I just have to sleep on colour of carapace.
