Snapped from supports, washed, cured, hatch parts sanded and all parts accounted for. I am not really sure what I´ll do with pilot compartment just yet. I am torn between doing: a) some kind of seat, rope ladder going down and putting chaos cultist onto base b) tentacles, guts and nurgling sitting firmly in, looking out like tank commander from opened cupola.
Those nids look really, really good! I especially like the feathered edge highlights you did on the carapaces. That and the general colour scheme is wonderful. The grey-blue skin tones are very nicely accented by the carapaces and the purple bio cannons.
I love it too. Worst part is that that is just some messed up light during quick photoshoot. They look according to paint scheme I decided.
He is looking great. I love the Nurgling sitting like he owns the place Fun conversion part! Grrr, !mrahil
Yesterday, I managed to prime another batch of Leviathan tyranids and third blighthauler yesterday. I also started gluing second blight drone. Today I brought saurus warriors and started painting some stuff.
Nice news. Somebody posted warcry realmshaper in sprue for sale on facebook, cheaper than original, so two minutes after posting, I took care of that.
I took my paints home from office, but I forgot my brushes there. Well... my make-up brushes has seen better days anyway, so when we parked near shop, I bought new ones and at least preshaded final stegadon. And today, I woke up early. With no means to paint, at least I clipped deimos rhino out of sprue, so I can start gluing it together in future.
Last few days were busy, but not really with hobby. I had little time at work and was interrupted every moment, so in the end I just went outside during lunchbreak and glued rhino Other than that I just replaced missing tyranids. Then today I went to modellers club and primed rhino, all remaining tyranids and glued realmshaper. Guy who sold it to me apologised that he lost instructions. I told him that it is fine, because it is basically cube with extra steps. And I ducked up! Steps should be on opposite sides.
Ooh I very much like the look of that realmshaper compared to the normal one. What are the dimensions of the base?
Dimensions are the same as normal one, apart from height as there are no "channeling rods" on top. It is just even more overgrown and beaten variant.
Ahh see I don't have the dimensions of the normal one either and can't seem to find it anywhere haha, I'm only wondering since I'm thinking of making a custom realmshaper engine myself!
Check out page five here. (And previous pages for in-work pictures) I made my first myself too. Base size is about 6"x6" (or 154x154mm) and height of pyramid is a bit under 4", or about 95mm. Edit: height is measured without channeling rods.
