Look at him. Look at him! I bloody love that tongue just derpily hangin´ out like it´s just another sunny day of riding on top of pile of bones!
NICE! With all those skulls it would appear that we've found a Khornate frog. Blood for the blood god, skulls for the frog's throne!
18°C and sunny day is close enough to ideal weather. I managed to get most of my seraphon stuff varnished today! That mostly concludes my "great varnishing of 2023". Third batch will be carnosaur, realmshaper and everything I manage to finish in meantime. Also, I got notified that my account acumullated 500 likes and I would like to thank everyone for it.
I managed to glue railing on remaining two stegadons. Next task is to clean skink shields and glue those. I also managed to paint skulls on all three stegadon bases.
I am beated and tired, but I managed to sit down and add tufts to Ork killteam to really finish them. But I think it was fitting, since it is "orctober" after all.
I went to post with kiddo to pick up order today. Box was so big that I wasn't able to put it under stroller, so I unboxed it right there. I borrowed box of skinks to kiddo, so he is distracted while I stuff other boxes under stroller. Well... He refused to give it back for next 20 minutes, even while rolling through the city, holding it like a prey and looking at the picture, sometimes making frog noices. I think I'll be making them soon
Betatest of basing. Basic recipe will most probably be: AP jungle tufts, woodland scenics turfs, marjoram (kitchen seasoning) and some dried twigs. I tried it on empty base ready for next salamander (as it will be pinned to base anyway). Glue is still wet, but I have same issue as always with turfs. They are taking forever to dry and don't really bind with PVA. So it is really easy to shake them off. I'll try second coat of dilluted PVA after it dries completely and we'll see...
Time to start on this month goals. Second unit of knights is really unfortunate bunch. They were part of preowned minis I bought when I was starting back in June. At first I thought that they are assembled and primed black, but upon closer inspection, I found out that previous owner already painted them (probably the same way as bunch of warriors that went right to isopropyl) and then tried to cover it with black spray without removing thick paint layer first to sell them as only primed. Last week, I finished bases to resemble my other ones, glued shields, pinned broken banner and added another layer of primer to parts where previous owner missed with spray. Today I sat down and added some preshading for speedpaints. All the time I drybrushed, tried to be gentle with banner as I thought that it might break again. Well... The weakes link was one of the drumsticks also banner broke too during final third drybrush To my great mental pain, all the moldlines showed during drybrushing, but I do not have strenght to start over. I just want to paint them as relaxation and give them chance to hit the table once again.
