Just lousy M36L. No need to be jealous But I remember the day I got them as if it was yesterday... Sit down kids, uncle Sleepy is gonna tell a tale. I was very hot summer day of 2019, sun was blazing like thousand solar engines and I found out that we are missing fifteen M36L nuts for triple project. Germans have already crossed the border, ready to test equipment that wouldn´t work without those nuts. I called to the closest shop I could find, reserved them and borrowed company car. It was hour and half long drive without navigation to city where I´ve never been before. Then I waited almost hour on blazing sun, because they didn´t realize that I´ll be coming the same day. Then hour and half back and when I called to workshop that they have them sitting on my desk, they told me, that Germans postponed testing as train was delayed... oh and also they miscalculated and one of those machines already had nuts, so they only needed ten. When worker came for them and tried to take all fifteen I quickly grabbed five and told him that he may have them over my dead body, as after torture of that day, I will care for them and they will have new home here, as paper weights. They are mine and I am theirs, forever. Now move along, nothing more to see.
Second unit of Warriors will be green as well, but in a bit darker shade so I can recognize them is case they are fielded as separate units.
Boss, I am tired. I was asked to open a file on computer to see if it is corrupted. Opening took almost three hours (and then pop-up window told me that it is corrupted), so meanwhile I sat there hunched at table. And I really need to get them home, because my drawer is getting full.
Loving seeing this colour scheme. The lighter is something I considered for my own warriors, though I changed my mind since my goblins are a similar colour
Go for it, nobody will notice unless both units are on same battlefield. I am glad that my pet potato was right, he always tells me that I am completely sane
I can´t really paint today as nothing is prepared, so it is just preparations for now. Fourth knights unit is ready to be primed. These are last ones I have and I used all remaining knight pieces (apart from few shields). This time I actually took some time to clean moldlines on second hand minis. Right now I am actually considering what to do next and I cannot really decide. There is not much I can actually do without priming big dinos and I don´t know when that happens. From what is left, I can: build terradons build another unit of warriors build another unit of skinks convert couple of spare warriors into unit of temple guards And that is it... that is all the minis (except big dinos) I have left to do...
Gluing done. Crew will be added later as I can paint those guys separate. Solar engine is only dry-fitted for easier painting. Now I'll wait few minutes and start brushing primer on one of them.
Slow and steady wins the race. Preshading done. We'll soon see how does big dino takes it. Time to think about color scheme...
Ha! I knew that with a bit of caution that Camo Green speedpaint will look great! First official bastiladon model and I love it already. So easy to paint. I will probably start swearing when I get to mechanism on top, but for now, it is great.
Small news. I added links to first page where is list of my painting progress, so I can find previous paint schemes easier. During that, I found out, that I have not posted finished carnosaur and DIY Ark of Sotek. I also did some math and purchased again both Start collecting Seraphon & Skinks that were on sale. I will keep second Carnosaur, terradons and skinks, selling the rest if possible.
Interesting idea to convert Standard Saurus into Temple Guard, and some well-executed attempts to boot, but my question is, why do so when the Temple Guard kit is perfectly fine, and indeed superior to the standard Saurus kit in the eyes of many?
They look great, love the orange and blue combination The green Totems and Gems give a wonderful contrast to it all. Did you manage to have spare shields and weapons? Grrr, !mrahil
Kit is perfectly fine, but I do not own it. On the other side, I bought about 40 crudely assembled saurus warriors with spears (that I am slowly converting to club weapons) and in bag of spare parts that came with them, there were 5 Temple Guard shields. As I do not own enough drums to equip them all as warriors, I said "Duck it" and made Guards from 5 of them (changing drummer to flute player ). Thanks I had just spare shields. I made weapons from spears and clubs glued together (couple of posts back).
Last day in the office. Rest of month will be just sporadic hobbying. I had packed most of my models home, but I found enough spare parts to make nice kitbashed Oldblood, so I don´t have to use OPR warrior model that I used to get a hold of speedpaints.
"Holy crap this is a sexy model!" <-- Gut reaction, so I posted it Great job, the Carno shield and dynamic looking pose is fantastic.
