Couple of weeks ago, I ordered batch of 200 magnets for bases. Those arrived yesterday and I started magnetising bases. I found out that 25 & 32 mm bases need one to hold still on vertical surface. 50mm bases took two magnets each. Oval bases for cavalry and salamanders took 2 magnets each and large dinos took 6 (!) magnets each... I am left with 3 magnets and I counted only what I have finished or in progress of building.
I have returned from trip to shady alley, where person in trenchcoat handed me couple of small ziplock bags. Few of those were related to what we do here.
You made quick work of it, but he looks amazing! Only remark would be that the orb in the staff is to mono colored blue I love the feathers Grrr, !mrahil
Thank you, I initialy thought that I'll just brush the ball gloss after spray varnishing, but that really is kind of bland. I'll try something on it next time I'm near it with paints.
Nice work! His original base is a bit bigger IIRC, including some dead Skaven. Did you plan to use that somewhere else? Grrr, !mrahil
I searched around for some info and apparently there are two bases in box. 32mm for playing (here on photo) and 40mm display base with that dead skaven and big pile of rubble.
Also, in last couple of days I managed to glue those crusaders. I just need to unglue magnets under resin turrets and grind down height of guiding cylinder as right now it is raised and does not sit flush. 12 are plastic kits and 3 are old resin & metal models from before plastic kits were made.
I tried vallejo xpress turquoise on skinks that acompany bastiladon. Colour is nice and spreads evenly.
Quick update: looks like only solar beam itself is missing. And I also tried out that no reactivation of vallejo xpress paint by slapping war-paint of red onto skinks:
Eternity warden is finished as well. Now I really need to pack that 50mm base so I can continue on Prophet of Sotek. Today is third day in row I forgot about it
Very nice work on all the lizards! I appreciate the drybrushing you did on the dwarf's beard, you are using that technique to great effect!
Thank you guys, I appretiate it. Something great happened. I didn't forget to bring 50mm base to work, so I blended res8n base with round one. After some trial and error I found best way to emulate same texture as on fantasy base was to smash my old toothbrush against milliput. I do not have final photo yet, so here is WIP for you. Edit: There is also one more new thing: I found one box at old price with sale. Paid about 150 euro, shipping included.
I must disappoint you. I will probably keep 10 marines and 5 terminators and sell rest. I mostly bought it as investment because price is going up and I need money for new lizards at summer. But those I keep will be probably death guard as I like their paint scheme and I already have kill team of them.
