I also bought new organiser for minis that I currently work on. This one is better than the one I´ve used for last couple of years, bigger and removeable slots. I needed to make some space in drawer, so I clipped crypt ghouls I bought second hand couple of months ago to be used for DnD. I guess I have to make them now
There. Finished gluing together some conversions. I now have whole killteam roster (minus missile launcher). I will keep it unpainted for now, as I would like to undercoat them silver, so no slapchop this time.
Wow that is great! you 3D printing that horus heresy stuff yourself? If I were ever to get into that game I would totally do that myself, save money on bits and all the helmets you could ever want!
Not myself, friend has a printer, but I found models and prepared them for printing. There is plenty of marine stuff online. At first I was disappointed that there are no special weapons in that big box, but printing exactly what I wanted was easier than buying expansion box with helmets and another one with 60 weapons
The Great Varnishing of 2023 vol.V This time only 13 lizardmen attended as most of what is left is either not on base, or is in drawer at work. Edit: and of course I forgot couple of those finished minis from this month
Great varnishing of 2023 vol.VI today. I managed to varnish second unit of warriors, skinks priest, guy with banner (I am tired and can't remember proper name) and two bastiladons. It was quick action, so I don't have picture. Posting mostly for myself to note what remains in future as minis blend together. Only things that remain to be varnished are: 5 knights 11 warriors Eternity warden Prophet of sotek
All right, since I am now a bit dead in the water waiting for new Seraphon and having finished all my small lizards and last 16 german grenadiers to do, I unpacked Octarius box and finally got into doing veteran guardsmen after almost two years With modern technology (3D printing bodies), I am able to get everything I need from those sprues that were in the box. This killteam will have 19 members.
I prepared files yesterday and friend brought me these to work today Shame I didn´t check proper scaling... they are fine height wise, but really thin compared to originals. Well, back to the drawing board. BUT! There was pearl in there. Behold their new mascot, "Sir Show-a-lot"
Second wave is prepared for printing, this time I left height as is and scaled other two axles 120% to beef them up a bit. I also added 3 kroxies to print bed to use mostly empty bed. Right? I already based him and I´ll prime him today
And here is group photo of first batch assembled. I need 5 more bodies for remaining specialists and 4 more bodies for additional ordinary riflemen.
When I was clearing space under my monitor this morning (since sheer amount of warhammer minis under it was rather alarming - 24), I sincerely started to giggle. I found three minis behind monitor support that I completely forgot about... October 12th was the day I finished first three out of six intercessors for kill team. Couple of days later, I glued and based three more to finish them later and I completely forgot about them. So... To finish one job before I start seven more, I primed them today, shuffled through some old notes to find original paint scheme and I'll be doing them soon. It is just three minis, so it should be quick two lunch break job and that will be my second kill team for this edition done and ready (not like I get to play a game, but hey... minis )
Krieg are my number one passion! Really looking forward to seeing yours painted! Also that dog is awesome!!
I remember that when I shared photo of first three, somebody said that it might be funny to colour them as TNMT. This is one of the original three: And here is WIP photo of second half of unit: I like those minis and hope to not mess them up too much. Also, I scraped paint of blanket and shovel to clean those print lines a bit. They were horrible. It is still not perfect, but it is much better.
Okay, another thing ready for varnish and out of the way. First three here (repost from October): And here are those new ones:
